The World’s Fair Salsa Congress (WFSC) will take place on June 26th and 27th 2015 at the Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadows Park, Corona, Queens. This event will feature performances by over 40 internationally-renowned dance companies. Over 20 Latin dance instructional workshops will be offered for adults and children–taught by some of the top instructors in the world. There will also be an exclusive children’s performance showcase and a musical show entitled “Blanco.” Blanco celebrates all cultures of the world through song and movement. We expect well over 2000 people to attend the WFSC.The goal of the World’s Fair Salsa Congress is to “unite the world through music and dance.” We would like people of all cultures to come together in a celebration of Latin music and dance. The World’s Fair Salsa congress also strives, as part of its charitable mission, to help low-income families afford to take part in cultural enrichment and arts programs. For 2015 the WFSC will be donating a portion of its proceeds to the Tropical Image Get Kids Off the Streets program (G-KOTS), a 501(c)3 organization which provides dance scholarships to at-risk kids. The G-KOTS dancers will also be performing at the WFSC.Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased on our website or in-person at Ru Dance Studio 132-01 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11354 (718) 358-3903. Tickets can also be purchased during the event itself, though we expect most shows to sell out beforehand.The World’s Fair Salsa Congress has reserved 20 front row seats for our most honored guests, Diamond VIP members. Diamond VIP members help the WFSC reach its goal of helping to provide dance scholarships to at-risk children. For a $500 donation, each Diamond VIP member gets an exclusive package which includes front row seating, WFSC tee shirt and cap, private dance lessons and practice sessions, exclusive buffet, and an opportunity to meet and take photos with the professional dancers. Additionally, each VIP member’s name and photo will be featured in the World’s Fair Salsa Congress magazine, which will be distributed to over 10,000 people. Diamond VIP members will also have their names projected onto the stage during intermissions, and will receive a commendation from the Master of Ceremonies.
